Vectra Bank's Wapensky Wins CFO of the Year Award From The Denver Business Journal
Denver (PRWEB) May 6, 2008 -- Vectra Bank Colorado Chief Financial Officer Deborah Wapensky was one of two recipients of the prestigious CFO of the Year for Large Private Companies award, given annually by The Denver Business Journal.
According to the publication, judges were especially impressed with Wapensky's many business successes at Vectra Bank. Her work improved bank efficiencies in part through upgrades and consolidations of certain facilities. Additionally, under her financial guidance, Vectra Bank's average loan balances grew 12 percent in 2007, increasing by $187 million to $1.8 billion. The bank also had a record level of earnings in 2007.
"I am truly honored to be selected for this award," Wapensky said. "But I share it with my Vectra team and my staff. Together, I believe we've made some significant and lasting impacts on the organization."
The newspaper also lauded Wapensky's work out of the office, supporting community nonprofits. She currently serves as chair of the board of the Children's Museum of Denver and is a former board member of the Women's Bean Project. A member of the Women's Vision Foundation, she co-chaired its 10th annual Women's Success Forum in 2007, a leadership conference attended by more than 1,200 corporate women.
