Blue Ridge Networks Receives Strategic Investment From North Atlantic Capital
Chantilly, VA (PRWEB) April 10, 2008 -- Blue Ridge Networks, a leading provider of high assurance security solutions to business and government, today announced that it has received new funding from North Atlantic Capital, a venture firm specializing in expansion-stage, technology-based companies. The funding is targeted to further expand an endpoint security solution that is built on Windows Server 2008 platform and complements Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology. Terms and amount of the funding were undisclosed.
Mark Morrissette, Managing Director of North Atlantic Capital, stated that 'We were very impressed with Blue Ridge Networks' plug-in solution that allows the enterprise to easily extend Microsoft's Network Access Protection to secure mobile endpoints. In addition, "this is a company with an outstanding reputation for successful deployments into some of the most secure, commercially-demanding environments in the world that are driven by mandates such as HIPAA and PCI compliance."
Mike Fumai, CEO of Blue Ridge Networks, emphasized that 'we are pleased to have such a strategic investment partner as North Atlantic Capital. Together, we are very optimistic about our products, increasing customer acquisition and the overall opportunities for 2008, especially considering the introduction of new technology capabilities that the marketplace has been demanding.'
The Blue Ridge/Secure EdgeGuard technology is being demonstrated at the RSA Conference 2008 in San Francisco this week at the RSA-NAP Partner Pavilion, #951. The EdgeGuard solution extends NAP client health checks to include Red List (execution forbidden processes), Green List (execution required processes), registry checking, custom posture assessment scripts and a 'panic button' that excludes all enterprise network access. Blue Ridge/Secure EdgeGuard also provides policy enforcement, quarantine, and remediation for off-enterprise clients. Blue Ridge Solutions (http://www.blueridgenetworks.com/solutions/msnap.html)
Blue Ridge/Secure EdgeGuard prevents end-users from making system changes that can expose the organization to malware attacks or worse. The solution ensures that client security software is continuously running, contains at-risk applications that could potentially be exploited, identifies pirated software, enforces endpoint settings that prevents users from altering system configurations, automatically and remotely corrects vulnerabilities, quarantines at-risk endpoints and enforces location-specific policies.
